Ground Hog Day falls
on the second day of February. It is on this day the groundhog leaves his burrow and pokes his head outside to have a look-see around!

He is checking the weather. If it is sunny and he sees his shadow, he expects storms will come and retreats back inside to hibernate for six more weeks of Winter.
If it is overcast and he does not see a shadow,
he expects moderate weather and remains above ground as Spring is near!
