The Club

Caveman

He had a club,
and knocked me down.
He rapped his wood,
on down, on down.
He had a gun,
and shot me through,
Ripped my heart,
in two, in two.

And still and all,
he did 'cause,
of the man he was,
- he was.
He did it all
both club and gun,
For the fellows who,
said it must be done,
He did it for,
 that fear inside,
that said I was,
the devil's pride.
That named me villain,
enemy, foe.

And I loved him then,
but he didn't know,
and now, and now...
he'll never know.
