Pumpkins

Pumpkins, pumpkins here's to you
Jack-O-Lanterns, orange too.
What be this, some hallowed eve
that makes us marvel and believe,
as we watch O'er the window sill
look to the darkness and the chill.
Searching for our favorite mask
Our favorite trickster to unmask.

OH! Pumpkins, pumpkins there you sit
with triangular eyes softly lit.
Gathering up the children's glee,
these costumes
parading past you and me.
As stumbling in the night chilled air,
go the sweet, treat seekers
of the candies there.
Yes, Jack-O-Lanterns,
GOD meant you
for Halloween and children too!
